Have you always wanted to make sourdough bread, but didn’t know where to start? It seems we all have some time on our hands these days, so maybe this is a good time to try!
Shelly Tomlinson of Been Jammin’ Bread, Lovettsville, will be conducting a Facebook Live workshop on our Facebook page that begins on Friday, April 24, 2020.
In early 2019, she began making sourdough bread as a hobby that quickly became a small business. Her popular music-themed crusty loaves of Jammin’ bread have been available through several area locations ever since. While her commercial bread production has temporarily ceased, Shelly would like to share her method for making Swingin’ Sourdough, a country loaf styled after that featured in the California-based bakery Tartine and the famous Tartine Bread cookbook by Chad Robertson (available online if you wish to purchase).
Do you want to participate? If so, please contact Shelly directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will provide the list for ingredients and supplies to have ready. For local participants, Shelly will provide starter and details on when and where to pick up before the workshop. Others can watch along if you have your own starter or just want to enjoy the video and bake later. Sourdough Class Instructions
